Internships
 

PROJECT ADVOCATE.

  • -  Work directly with accepted project partners to refine their proposals (addressing the DRIPS criteria, assessing social media presence, etc.)
    • -  Help project partners compile the information for their project profile and get it posted to the site
    • -  Prepare and execute a communication strategy for the project (public service announcements, media pitches, social media messaging, video production, etc.)
    • -  Monitor and facilitate discussion on the project home page and around the web
    • -  Prepare periodic “project postcards” with project highlights for the program director and contributing donors
  •  

COMMUNITY ADVOCATE

  • -  Monitor Tipping Bucket user feedback channels and address concerns and questions in a timely manner. Communicate urgent/common concerns to relevant team members.
  • -  Maintain a weekly community metrics dashboard
  • -  Conduct focus groups, interviews, surveys etc. to solicit feedback on projects, site usability, etc.
  • -  Manage the Tipping Bucket “Karma” program; engaging the team, project partners and sponsor organizations in creative ways to thank project supporters.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • -  Work with social media expert consultant to manage TippingBucket Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts (monitoring activity, sending out official messaging, building followers/fans)
  • -  Contribute to the Tipping Bucket blog (weekly posts)
  • -  Help build social media strategy (design and maintain a social media dashboard)
  • -  Work with project advocates to design and execute social media plans for each project
  •  

VIDEO PRODUCTION

  • -  Storyboard, produce and edit TippingBucket videos using animation, 2.5D and film (some videos already in the pipeline include “how it works” tutorials, project partner spotlights, public service announcements, ads, etc.)
  • -  Consult and/or assist project partners with video production (compile how-to’s, resources and contacts, provide personalized guidance, arrange/coordinate video production)
  •  

GRAPHIC DESIGN

  • -  Produce print materials for media, public relations and promotional use.
  • -  Develop a TippingBucket brand and style guide
  • -  Produce native artwork for website and mobile application interface designs
  • -  Work with usability, SEO and UI experts to improve the user experience and effectiveness of the site and apps.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • -  Prepare press releases (funding, partnership and launch milestones/announcements, beta launch events, project partner profiles)
  • -  Cultivate relationships with local media
  • -  Pitch local/national media
  • -  Design a press kit and EPK
  • -  Maintain a database of media contacts
  • -  Track press coverage for the TippingBucket
  • -  Design and maintain the Pressroom on the main website

Each internship involves the following:

  • -  At least 10 hour/week 14-week commitment working on-site and on a regular schedule coordinated with the team.
