Project Description:

HELP International and Deseret International Foundation are teaming up in Uganda to literally give sight to the blind.  For hundreds of Ugandans with cataracts or river blindness disease, needed surgeries are simply out of reach:  They are either too expensive or too far away.  HELP has experience connecting rural villagers to screenings and surgeries in Uganda, while Deseret International trains and supplies local surgeons.  By creating a lasting relationship between the hospital and the villages, this summer over 100 Ugandans will receive sight-saving surgeries, and hundreds more will be treated in the months and years to come.

Ugandan doctors are providing the surgeries pro-bono, but that's only about half the cost.  We need $3000 to hire support staff, transport villagers who need serious surgeries, provide medications, and advertise the screenings.

Budget

Item Cost
Suport staff (nurses, technicians, etc) $1,000.00
Transportation $900.00
Medication $600.00
Advertising & mobilization $500.00
Total: $3,000.00
